about

Egbert Schram is the group CEO of Hofstede Insights since January 2012. He is astute, passionate about his work, known to make complex things understandable by focusing on pragmatic solutions.

His speciality lies in using a data-driven approach to culture, enabling executive-level discussion and decision making. His background as a forester, educated at Wageningen University helps him to keep discussions simple and down to earth, combining short term tactical thinking and long term strategic thinking.

Combining his ongoing efforts to internationalize Hofstede Insights’ global operations with daily leadership of an organisation working in 61 countries, he has gained deep experience in managing the ultimate diversity mix (60+ nationalities, ages varying between 22 and 75, equal gender balance), in one of the most demanding professional environments. Since 2012 the organisation has tripled its turnover, headcount and global footprint.

Egbert is a frequent sparring partner at top executive levels, helping to put numbers to people operations (the value of culture) and has spoken among others at CNBC Africa about the impact culture has on economical development of countries, the international project management institute about the importance of diversity and a mix of other keynote events.

Some of the projects he has been involved include customers and partners such as Noor Bank, Mars, GE Healthcare, Manipal-Cigna, Manipal Health Group, Bayer Nordics, Huhtamaki, Futurice, Mediacom, WPP, P&G, Stanton Chase, Microsoft, BCG, several oil and gas organisations and a variety of governmental and supra governmental institutions.

Egbert functions as the chair of the Amcham Finland advisory board and the chair of the Dutch Finnish chamber of commerce. He also writes for the Forbes Business Council.
