Okey Okere

Okey Okere is an experienced Knowledge Services Professional with nearly two decades’ experience with several Nigerian firms. His competencies include Business Research and Analysis, Management Consulting & Strategy, Learning & Development, Investment Advisory, Finance, Business Development, Credit/Risk Analysis, ICT Management and Programme Management.

He was an analyst with Nigeria’s foremost Research and Credit Ratings firm Agusto & Co Limited. Leveraging on his research and consulting experience, he worked with other companies in the Financial Services, Telecoms & ICT and Food & Beverages sectors. He also served as the pioneer Chief Operating Officer of Agusto Consulting Limited (the training and consulting subsidiary of Agusto & Co Limited) between 2014 and 2018.

He has led several professional services and research projects in Nigeria and Ghana. He was the key resource in the Growth and Employment for States (GEMS3) programme for the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), which was sponsored by the UK Department for International Development (DFID or UKAid). In that project, he facilitated the pilot stage of the Nigeria Investment Certification Programme for States (NICPS) and acted as the lead consultant for the programme’s Information and Marketing Standards.

He has also assisted banks and other businesses to gather vital data and intelligence to guide important investment or lending decisions. These assignments include publicly published or unpublished client-sponsored industry research reports for several industries/sectors. Okey has also assisted several clients to identify and implement winning strategies for sustainable growth, using such tools as the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and the Blue Ocean Strategy. He also designs and facilitates training programmes covering various topics in his area of expertise, for banks and other companies in West Africa.

In September 2018, Okey became an Associate Partner of Hofstede Insights, after the organisation certified him as an accredited practitioner for both Organisational Culture (OC) and Inter-Cultural Management (ICM). He is currently, the Country Manager / Chief Executive Officer of Hofstede Insights, Nigeria (the group’s first and only office in Africa).

He has a Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech) from the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) Nigeria, where he also took postgraduate studies in Finance. He also has an action-learning based MBA (graduating Magna Cum Laude) from Business School Netherlands (Buren, Netherlands). He is currently engaged in the final stages of research for a Doctorate Degree with the same university.
